No Contest Plea In July 5th Child Rape

The mandatory minimum is 15 years, but Lackawannna County prosecutors are shooting for a mark way beyond that. 40 year old Felix Montoya, of 270 Tamworth Drive in Taylor, pleaded no contest to charges that he raped a 5 year old girl.  The Times-Tribune reports that the DA's office will aim for "life plus 40 years."  The little victim required surgery after the July 5th attack in the bedroom of her home. Her family had hosted a Fourth of July party and the child had gone to bed when Montoya entered her room and attacked her.  The family did not know Montoya but he came to the party with another guest.
