The gates at the Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Plains Township will be unlocked this morning at 7:30. They will begin to welcome horsemen getting ready to begin the 52nd season of racing. Racing season will open on Saturday March 18th.

Scranton Police say Ryan Taylor allegedly threw Danee Mower into the Lackawanna River. According to police, Taylor said the two were arguing over marijuana at the top of the river bank just off Olive Street.

New Inter-County Bus Pass

Beginning tomorrow you can purchase an "Inter County 31 Day Bus Pass". It will allow riders unlimited access to all routes on both bus routes for the Luzerne County Transportation Authority and County of Lackawanna Transit System.

A traffic stop in Hazleton yesterday afternoon ended with Kevin Black arrested on numerous drug charges. It turned out Black was wanted and had several outstanding warrants.

Officials are still investigating a suspicious package that caused the evacuation of the Stegmaier Building late yesterday morning. The leaking package,was determined not to be a threat.

More Charges For a Hazleton Man

More charges have been filed against 20 year old Keefer Ngirngesechei. The Hazleton man now faces 32 new charges filed Wednesday including promoting prostitution of a minor, corruption of minors and others. The latest charges involved a 16 year old female.

Police in Luzerne county say Juan Prieto turned himself in yesterday and now faces a stack of charges. The 42 year old Hazleton man was wanted for allegedly hiding in the ceiling of a restaurant in Mountaintop and taking videos of women using the bathroom

A Scranton man is faces numerous charges for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15 year old female. Richard Hallock according to investigators had been involved with the teen from September or October of 2015 until present day.

Gov Wolf on a Budget Tour in Wilkes Barre
