Fires in Freeland, Lehman Township and Jessup kept crews busy but there were no injuries.
Firefighters from several nearby communities were called out to help those in Freeland battle a blaze on Centre Street. The call came in around 9 to american Legion Post 473 at Centre and South Streets. Everyone got out ok and there's no word yet on a cause.
A fire marshall will be back on the scene of a late night fire in Luzerne County. The fire broke out around 11pm at a mobile home on Firehouse Road not far away from the Lehman Township vol fire Company. One person was home at the time and got out ok.
For the fourth time since June fire crews were called to Scranton Cooperage in Jermyn. Once again it was the same pile of debris they crews had been called out to deal with before including when the June blaze caused evacuation of nearby residents. Jessups Fire Chief says he won't put firefighters at risk until they know what they are dealing with. The state Department of Environmental Resources has also been investigating.
