Seeks More Time To Pay Bills

Gas and electric utility companies are being asked to give customers an extra two weeks to pay their bills before shutting off services. State Representative Peter Daley, chairman of the House Consumer Affairs Committee, sent a letter to the Public Utility Commission and Energy Association of PA, asking that they grant a two-week reprieve on shutting off service, from April 1st to the 14th. Also this week, the period to apply for heating assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, was extended to April 18.
