The Pa. State Police are acting on numerous tips and intensifying their search of the northern Monroe Co/Pike Co area looking for suspected killer Eric Frein. Gov. Tom Corbett announced that progress is being made, and Lt. Col. George Bivens of the PSP says hundreds are now in the search and they are 'close to him'. Suspended state trooper Carrie Gula was a five-time winner in Luzerne County Court yesterday. the 36 year old West Pittston resident was charged with two computer-related crimes and three counts of making false claims to police. Gula was involved in what turned into a rotten domestic relationship with now ex-boyfriend Eric Thomas, of Exeter. She had been accused of breaking into his internet account and telling police that he had physically attacked her. She was cleared by a luzerne County jury that spent more than five hours behind closed doors.
