Ex-Chief Escapes Charges

He won't be charged with doing anything as long as he pays back the money he was accused of taking. A Luzerne County judge agreed to dismiss charges against former West Wyoming Police Chief David Gashi...as long as he pays back the $18,000 he accepted in duplicate pays. The 70 year old ex-top cop was accused of theft after allegedly accepting well over 13-thousand dollars in duplicate pay. Gashi will have to pay back more than $18,000, which represents over $14,000 to the police pension fund and $3,700 to the borough itself.
