Casey Eyes Income Gap

Ahead of President Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Pennsylvania U S Senator Bob Casey is calling for action to address the income gap. Casey released figures showing Pennsylvania's overall poverty rate is 13.3%, but some communities are much higher. He says Philadelphia is above 26% and several counties are in the 16 and 17 point range including Forest, Venango, Mifflin and Indiana Counties. He says in the short term, raising the minimum wage would help. In the long term, he says early learning, education and job training strategies need to be put in place.
