Hiking Pre-K Enrollments

A new statewide initiative is aimed at increasing the number of 3 and 4 year-olds enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten. Joan Benso, President and CEO of Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, was joined by members of the education, law enforcement, military, businessness and social service sectors, to launch Pre-K for PA. It's a non-partisan effort to increase the estimated to 20-percent of Pennsylvania kids who currently have access to high quality Pre-Kindergarten. Those involved in the initiative all point to research which states that early education improves the likelihood of success in high school and college, decreases the chances of a person getting caught up in the legal system, and enhances critical thinking for the increased high-tech military and workforce.
