After plans to re-invent it.Efforts to save it. And debate over the worth of keeping it....the demolition of the Hotel Sterling in downtown Wilkes-Barre begins today. After decades of being the crown jewel of Wilkes-Barre's center city, time did not treat the historic building kindly. It was cracked and crumbling and dangerous. Today a demolition crew began the task of destroying what time could not. It looks like a month's worth of demolition will be followed by another month to haul away the debris.
