Ex students sue Marywood University over nursing program
Ten former nursing students are suing Marywood Univeristy over claims that it failed to disclose the nursing program's accreditation was at risk. The Times-Tribune of Scranton reports that a lawsuit filed in Lackawanna County court says the former students feel their careers could be damaged. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing recently informed Marywood it was revoking the nursing program's accreditation. Marywood is appealing and remains accredited for now. The lawsuit says the school's accreditation was denied because not enough faculty hold doctorate degrees. The school has declined to say why its accreditation is in jeopardy. The suit seeks more than $300,000.
