Shots Fired Again in Wilkes Barre


Just after midnight, Wilkes Barre Police investigated reports of shots firedat an apartment building in the 200 block of Scott Street. There were no injuries. Shots fired yesterday leave Abtoine Mouzone of Wilkes Barre behind bars facing charges in that incident.

Wilkes Barre Meeting on Schools


A special meeting will bring recommendations to the school board on what should be done with the current three high schools in the Wilkes Barre Area School District. The meeting is set for Thursday 6pm at Solomon/Plains Jr. High gym.

Wayne County Plane Down


Preliminary investigations indicate a pilot ran out of runway yesterday in Wayne County while trying to land. Crews were called to Cherry Ridge Airport near Honesdale yesterday afternoon and found the plane rolled over into a swampy area. 

Luzerne County Rescue


Rescue crews in Luzerne County were called out to Mill Creek Reservoir in Bear Creek Township yesterday. A man fell some 60 feet onto the rocks below from the dam. No trespassing signs are on the property. No word on the man's id or condition.

Penn State Caravan in W-B


The PennState Coaches Caravan will be in Wilkes Barre this evening. Doors open at the FM Kirby Center on Public Square Wilkes Barre from 7-9pm. Walk ins are welcome on a space-available basis for $10. Among those attending Football Coach James Franklin
