It's a long way from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Williamsburg, South Carolina. But that's the trip that former State Senator and Senate Democratic Leader Bob Mellow is forced to take. He'll serve a 16-month prison sentence in the South. He was scheduled to report today. but there's word that the new date is Friday in order to give him enough travel time. Mellow pleaded to conspiracy to commit mail fraud. He said he used Senate staff members to do campaign work while they were being paid to do the work of the people. He also admitted he filed a tax return that did not honestly reflect his earnings from the sale of the Blakely building that contained his local office.
