Stiffer Penalties For Alcohol Use And Abuse



A measure that strengthens penalties for underage drinking and public drunkenness has been signed into law by Gov. Corbett after receiving widespread support in the state legislature.
Senate Bill 941 raises the fine for underage drinking and public drunkenness to a maximum of $500 for the first offense and a maximum fine of $1,000 for the second and subsequent offenses.The new law takes effect December 25th.
