We now have confimed information relted to gunfire and death in Wilkes-Barre this morning. It happened around 8:30 at the Sherman Hills Apartments on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre as law enforcement officials attempted to serve a felony homicide warrant on a man from Philadelphia. It developed into a worst-case scenario with plenty of gunfire. When it was over the suspect was dead...shot by U.S. marshalls. A Wilkes-Barre police officer suffered a gunshot wound of the ankle. He is being treated. His injury is not life-threatening. The father of the deceased suspect also suffered a gunshot wound. No word on his condition.
