A car driven by a 72 year old Wilkes-Barre woman ran off Route 115 in Bear Creek Township yesterday afternoon and hit a 26 year old man from Clearfield County. Both were killed. Investigators say Ann Rinko was behind the wheel when her car struck Ryan Jacobson. He was setting up traffic control signs at a tree-trimming site wen he was hit.

Hazleton distribution center will bring 300 jobs
HAZLETON, Pa. (AP) Gov. Tom Corbett says American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is planning a $160 million-plus distribution center near Hazleton that is projected to generate nearly 400 jobs.
The governor said Tuesday the million-square-foot center on a 120-acre site will also bring construction jobs and additional hiring during peak business seasons.

A district magistrate from the Abingtons virtually assured he will become a Lackawanna County judge after capturing both the Democratic and Republican nominations in Tuesday's primary.
With 93 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Magisterial District Judge James Gibbons seized the most Democratic and Republican votes in the race, totalling 15,202 of the 40,183 votes cast.

Shooter arrested in connection with murder of Lackawanna College student
SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) Authorities say a man being sought in the slaying of a college student in northeastern Pennsylvania has been taken into custody in New York state.
The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (http://bit.ly/10k4T8t ) says the U.S. Marshals Service says a task force tracked 18-year-old Ryan Harding to the Syracuse, N.Y. area.

Phila. abortion doctor found guilty
A Philadelphia doctor accused of performing illegal, late-term abortions in a filthy clinic has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies born alive. But he was acquitted in the death of a fourth baby. Dr. Kermit Gosnell (gahs-NEHL;) was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of a patient. Prosecutors say the 72-year-old Gosnell delivered babies alive and had their spines severed with scissors to kill them. The defense had argued there were no live births at the clinic. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the infant deaths.

Four Kids Among Fatal Fire Victims
Officials say two adults and four children have been found dead at a fire scene in Pottsville. Local fire Chief Todd March says firefighters were called to a home late last night and found smoke pouring out of the building. Channel 16 says the mother of the children and wife of one of the adult victims returned home to see the flames consuming the building.
