And we do believe that recovery is possible yet we also know that too often silence equals death. Yet today we are very fortunate and excited to welcome come Randy crime spree Andy is the former senator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'm he played with the NFL from 1983101992. What many don't know is that Randy had nearly a twenty year addiction to pain pills and at one time. He was taking up to 45 pills a day. His addiction started with pain control and it escalated from there and I was very lucky to have Randy with the state to share your story of healing help Recovery Act because seen and done how he's helping others and that same path welcome Randy. I sanctuary only doubts I Randi are you doing. Jack what much links Cox thanks for coming on the show Randy. Slow thing you're ever made thank you through opportunity and I love and appreciate what you go through doing up there friends how's the weather in Florida senate. Also part of your road and end up all the ball eighty degrees. All I know I just heard the weather person say regular snow and sleet tomorrow and I'm big and Randy honor and a pair of shorts and by the pool. I knew are no flights come in here every day that you've got fed up I told you right after the first and Miro or we down. It's slow if you look me up but I certainly am going to. Randy how we start right in the beginning and tell us about your career. And I had a great career you know football loads at. The slump that I was always do that. I had an opportunity to play at Baylor you get a scholarship there point four great years there was some great people. A lot of great players went onto the NFL no doubt that I would play against further blurs the rest of my career. Randy will let me just for 12 we use anyone on the NFL in 1983 you're drafted into the NFL right. And that and people have said that was maybe the greatest draft class of all time. I'm glad there that jacket that's clear all the trial and then there are still people that question now have a job that was Marino go away. That was good Jim Kelly that was a great draft class a lot of great why I'm not a lot of dirt running backs and receivers I mean it was across the board one of the deep. Foreman and we didn't the most talented draft core business and not an outlet that you'll go though Bennett. While Bob Todd black like Donald Penn State I mean we're appearance Wednesday country we got a gym every shout out Randy. So you can feel it yeah there's another one so you went into the NFL they went in Tampa Bay Buccaneers. How intrepid a sucker right elbow Tampa Bay Buccaneers and there was huge especially oh he's got this you have like me I'd never even seen the ocean. So go until it came that it just made the playoffs the year before going to really seaside community like Tampa. It it was so. Do it do it was an awesome experience and I'd I'd gotten married after my junior year in college so I had my alarm sweep me. And we're gonna help they're not only starting their lives so career. But also store you know our our future together so there it was exciting times in 1983. While and then that seems like yesterday doesn't Randy. They really don't. Yeah really of what a lot of Italian all throughout over it's happened several times a year and you go to games or stepped over there or I'd you know I'd do build those over there and Tampa has not changed that much. But that's gonna be here. So Randy you into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and you start out and you have this dream. When you're now living you know every kid in the American dream to play in the NFL. You're live in the stream. But at some point. It takes a call on you doesn't Randy. Yeah and you know Jack I'm. I hobbled one of those you're out there which come in and now I would keep my mouth shut now would do what I was told I listened to the older guy so much into the doesn't have been a social rules for. And you know one of the things that are learned early in my career quotes to do whatever I had to do you stay out on the field. In all we are going to be that doubt it was always backing trained and very look little neck injury so not gonna get that reputation. As being somebody that rose. Always hurt China you know other than that though the U proverbial wilder. You know and and admit it would be easy to get that reputation and I was not on us. Allow myself to do that so I was willing to do whatever I have to do is play on the field and one of the things that. Polar I was taught me that they're not too early don't blame older doubts I just know that was a culture of the NFL that warrior mentality. Where you suffer in silence and you take your your own business and stay out there on the field and and about what in my position somebody else was going to be so you know actually you are sort of self medicate me every day I'm just say out there. And that was one of the things so just taught me to do an end you know I didn't look at it lark I was doing anything other then. Eat my family but you know taking care my job and do what I had to do to get our job every day you look at it they have. When you when you say south Medicaid in what do you mean by soft indicating I mean did you just go to someone to get pain pills did you go to C a position to get a script soared. You know how do you saw Medicaid. Also there and after I mean we had access really think we wanted there. You know I. Didn't it. Label prescribing horror or bar managers aren't trainers but seeing doctors who owns a local culture of the Manitoba then I. And even if they need they didn't give it to you we had an open drug Trace there that the media have the locker room because he's a club house. So you can just give you a very give what everybody did a proton. So I mean that was the culture the NFL's they end. Through the eighties and an early ninety's so. You know that you can actually self medicate now so they can handful to bring bottles are really stay out on the field. Randy it's not like destiny in the NFL and he his walk into a drug Roman help yourself. Well Jack got to wonder what's going on you know large skillet you know I do a lot of work with the end of phils still do a lot of work in Major League Baseball there. There are gals that are still common group. Then I'm working wearing lipstick cultures still exists you know it wasn't but a couple of years ago that the PS they cracked down. Are visiting doctors are coming into here. Other two inch. Stadiums tempers Robin narcotics which you cannot do bench cannot cross state lines like. And also. The off label prescribing. Yeah that was going on. As far as I know they say it's gotten better it is still exist to some extent. Alum and you say off label sore losers understand you mean their prescribing more medications for something that wasn't prescribed wasn't intended for. Is that right right. Or perhaps they all labelled pre drug and I'm downplaying their please the medication in the sense cheer. That came spoke just argue would be sent from the team from big pharma us. And I mean it's not like they're handing Jiri Porsche group showed no change. And Angie medication Emma. A little wide demo limbo Oprah purim oracle slow him blow up. So that you know what I'm sort of off label prescription. Okay Arabic we and you're gonna put on hold once said we have to take a short break to thank our sponsors we'll be right back. Since 1972. Andy's story is as remarkable I'm just say the least album he played with the NFL from 1983 to 1992. But what many don't know is after nearly twenty years are Rian he had an addiction to pain pills and taking up to 45 pills. A day and I'm Randy welcome back to WAOK sharing recovery. Thank you very much so Randi who you youth. Now you're in the NFL you don't wanna be no wimpy guy that needs to goes can run into the team doctor all the time and she started taking pills. How long you can take. How what how long was a progression Randy from that first season to where you realized. 00 this is a problem. Well again you know backed bid and has so many enablers and all our team doctors and trainers teammates I had and you know I had. So many people that would enable this addiction her age out of control and blockage and keep in mind back then I didn't look at it walking addiction I look at it as a necessary people. You lose your job done. Right part of my occupation. You know and the good thing that I've only recently started talking about the last couple years is you know. One of the things that I am most ashamed about his god god gave me so much talent. And blessed me with the opportunity to be a third right plays her right arm around the right people. Are so many years my entire football careers. And you know the last years of my in a so career mud trees. So you know the greatest opportunity tomorrow on I played in the complete or get out there I was straight in so many pain pills and so many bands shows. At the end of my career literally remember Vienna I don't feel I would be home at night. After you wanna clarkin has filled game on Sunday in India later nine indeed that of the home. That would spark come into the you've got out of this blacked out. They're realized that I had played an entire it's also Borger PR would be beaten hello I would you know all out and bruises and everything that goes along with playing an NFL game. And and not remember a single play. The entire game that I started and played every element of grand am how I would apostles and what I still elect. That's what so index Morgan's. And watch it on film whether somebody else can you see how I played the day before. And you always played great. But I did them a complete bark out but that would do well this insanity to go on a whole another week. So one I was drunk Randy. A somebody asked what time did you ever have a blackout. ICI had one. From 1968. To 1998. For. I have won a blackout thirty years. And yeah I went to work I drove the car I do all the stuff that we normally do. I wake up in the morning oh my garage is you my car was there because they had no recollection of the night before. And you're telling me that you actually played pro games. In a blackout. Insert word wow that that is that might be one of the craziest things I remember her brandy because I don't I just can't imagine that. That the concentration it takes to be able to snap the ball. Time to be on the field during the placed a followed cadence of the cornerbacks and your door all that. And you're in a blackout. Well IQ just survey future owned and operated a call. I work yet familiar you responded to commands of waterworks are on the post so I needed this happens. Yeah I guess you're right but I never thought about that when they're can be actually pro athletes that are. Actually functioning at their job during that I was I can run a piece of construction equipment in a blackout. So why could you snap the ball in the black. Insurance while there are so what happened Randy now do you heat your home and a blackout is don't want so so the next day to see the game. At what point did you start to think how much women both houses gonna make out after I'm done in the NFL. Well you know it and why it developed into a rage and addiction that I will still unable to. You know admit was raging addiction and never expected to take their consumer charred lot that I remember. I give any and keep it keep in mind what was going on in champ goes. In the eighties and early not Wear her little revolving door of not only coaches players. Front office personnel. I mean I had started coaches. Image in years I was there it's six different optimism on coaches in the ten years I was there probably CN. Different quarterback got up underneath me. In met she in years so it was a revolving door. And the book I want consistent thing was the ability your great crowd still you start it's planner. And I'm so would that be and says. I I thought I was having a successful career you know up off that I was reading math and thought I was gonna be able to where you big name on my own arms and and little did I know nobody ever gets the big sand and that should have seen that comment about our daughter got kept. Believe the game and not on their own terms are remember Sam wash was my last Nick Roach. And I remember after that nice to see from him walking up to remain looks like I know Randy. We're not gonna major service learning more hands and then you walked out. There are your members think can argue experience. Now everything that's a bit and through and kept all the blood sweat tears all those solutions seasons although revolving door players should personnel. This is how are the end all luge years sort of junior I was house pool of college ball all the work that I put into bills every year all year long. And it the end with a tap on the shoulder by coach that I hardly news. And I remember wreck who just try to reach and in my locker. They're raking everything in our own denial walker into a black trash bag and walking out the back door and that was the end of an amateur career. And that. He's done this. That was the end of Randy crunch the football there and backhand. Football world who are awash. They want but just problem I'd give it what I did well to my identity year was mum. I'm shrimp social so that was my mom my short word for. And our. You know all that rage and addiction or met. And believe me jacked into that I mean at that point it did cross over it was not about just street knee injuries and more full blown addiction that I couldn't stop doing. And and I never expected to take that into my hours are more but never looked at what. And you know as you know retired and moved back to use so many injuries should just general worse the depression or a million. Video lack of identity and so worried just kept general person I was so many jags now not only for injuries but also you know brutal underlying issues that are almost anywhere else and that went on three years and years. When you say almost one year well actually more like 2 morning flush years. Club doctor shopping and all over and you've still remote no multiple doctors multiple pharmacies. You know Barnes stuff on the street. Ohrnberger how to do is call our jobs and all the things that we lose the belt prediction the gravy and signed. Part of that is that I couldn't stop the brutal. Men now can I ask you questions please when you were playing you are south Medicaid in. Did your family now. Great news. I mean ma while Newt and I needed some tremendously. But they didn't know how much I was doing and they didn't know how. Frequent I was doing their. They know about the Gallup total equality and then you know there at the end. So yeah I mean I hit it pretty good thing. But why would they suspected you know I will not only cure that was cute in my position and yeah I really didn't give many reasons to repair a muscle I have plenty of money charming man. You know pedal problem go on all the way up to the auto facilities. So what we're really around the met much during the season. The off season Randy yes how to keep using during the offseason just some. To mitigate the pain they were from the season right. Yeah well. I guess I really didn't show any signs like ban met what do alarm anybody you know it wasn't until. Things escalated. I do know where they were just so completely out of control after I retired before people sort of really get concerned. And when you retire Randy you you left Florida you back to Texas. What happened then. Well a match and I didn't have built an enabler anymore I didn't have the teen archery team trainer teammates and fans. Then and then Marcus says you know I've started. Supplement and anyway that are good and that's where a little bit doctor shop and in the mold of oil pharmacy shopping and all that's stored at. So I'm. You know I don't encourage some problems sure he'd I was going through our money you know I was I was usually shop shop because I was not our knowledge that we work you know. Or do and salt institute but it worked many people that work knew what was going on. They're and then the family started getting involved you know that's when I went out started I tried to go to a couple of feet our troops but you know that never worked it just never really worked on those underlying mission news. There were making me do what I was doing at that point and what you just about these injuries are clearly knows full blown addiction. And you know fear yet so they're cleared of have been seizures are having seizures every time I won't come off the planet. I mean who are close so when slaying. Thought it. Even that even know one that you know mile walk slowly made it out another job but it just go to another car we've observed that helps what's gone out. Freeport clothes darker couldn't stop bill I just couldn't stop doing that we're here. RB addiction everything and I can over there. For you at one point suicidal. I don't think that I would have ever heard Marshall intentionally but certainly ready. Berlin next Campbell ultimate model. I mean. At this point you gotta be in your early thirties if you play ten years in the league. And and just furthest thing from the listeners Randy most people have the misconception. The NFL players that have played the average 67 years ten years. They think of those guys are laying multi multi millionaire for the rest so lie for money never initial. And that's not the case isn't. No no it's not even close. You know it's such a small brush and I believe that's made in the kind of money that most people think it's great you're. The majority of the jobs are working class does Taylor I mean are making good salary to put it in proportion. You salaries. You see listed in the paper all the time most of the jobs are not making that much when you're talking about seventeen on a lawyer's letter and all you so called best. And most of those guys are just making good salary certainly not open that cheat them afloat at risk of their morals. Right that was the point oh great grandiose alleged fraud you have both zillion dollars at your disposal to keep buying drugs. At some point darker it started to affect you just like it affected me in my family Randy I don't know landscaping company for 25 years. But over time I lost the landscaping coming I lost my my wife divorced mean I lost my house I lost everything. As a result of addiction. And that's just because. We will call this your celebrity factor didn't make it so easy for you started to lose things and you Randy. And I couldn't stop it and you know I did it mourn for you out there. And I always score you know what I'm gonna get a grip on the hormones start an agent has directed. I'm gonna. I'm gonna give control of this thing but I'll do it tomorrow hope. You know and and then I had when he put -- who have come out tomorrow so I mean are retarded 1990s I agree. And I think gets sober till 2000 and not political bought misery in between there. Third a huge wake of destruction that I lived everywhere that I won't quit it's her although this year. And you know local there was some people are just thrown in there and you know but it never helped but never got a grip on it. I'm not get it under control or weeks modify you know do Montero. For a little while. But I will never sober. End. Achieved through. Potentially insanity of this disease could be my future I can assure you knew what was going on we just couldn't stop the chaos. Well and that's were more sure all those year and looking back I had some great jobs. Are accomplishing great things but. In the mix post always substance abuse always abuse and open looks and then goes and I'm just couldn't stop doing it. Well I'd get some I don't somewhere anywhere I didn't know how to survive with alcohol. And I didn't know how to survive without alcohol. I was brought petrified every day of the week. Got my wife and my similar to find out that I owed the IRS a fortune that I always suppliers a fortune that I hadn't paid all the bills into trucks earlier repossessed. Because all the money went went to my addiction so I had no idea how to tell anybody. So what do you do. Well easy don't tell. You're you know that you said that that you know I I didn't know enough about it and I don't Bono weighed a hundred pounds of so and I thought I didn't know who to call I didn't know what to say or how they ask. And I know that's no which usually Joseph bottom out there every day now. Jelly and who to call what to do putts and but back then what you know when it's about I think about T I think a couple seizures or not though not probably yet here and does this change seizures. Just because I would learn how to stand there. And you know what this this is found slain it would pleased that. Instead of going in the region now we didn't help I would travel all over or use them. Looking for more than actual sort wouldn't have another seizure no one that I could never seizures being sort got. Well I would drive around to you know listen and not only cure almost all of the governor did kill somebody else so. That's reinstated into the use them when actually that I couldn't stop that's what I mean I was out there doing crazy things because of this addiction. That I would other what I it's never too. Our words they don't worry about camel we come back grainy wrote talk a bad day you crawled into a treatment center and how much life has changed since then. So Europe and the. And he is sharing his story of addiction and recovery. You know Randy it was a wondering if you would please share you know with your addiction. When I got. Real bad enemy like it obviously got worse than when you were playing in the NFL what we spending months. To feed your addiction how much it costs shared. You know. They can vacuum once you know thousands and thousands of dollars. But you know when you go around always stiffer and clinics and we're all over used to and that is a huge charge you know. It's harder dollars a day easy and that goes by and I'm third jock church and an end. Little pop up pharmacy so let's not shall want to wish and then. On the street and we know what I couldn't find the dark pure soul it. I don't know you don't wanna never voted down on paper or not I'd come scared guys. Under settle into. Water and no brand and people used to say between where did you get the money you spend and I would say I don't know. And they don't understand that that's the truth is I have no idea where the money came from I have no idea where the money went. All I know is I got the job done it every day. I got myself in that condition they needed to be an every day somehow and that was the only thing that mattered to me. Right up until that moment or my wife said to me get help forget out. And that they it was a day that I changed it in the east and went to my first recovery meeting. What was the breaking point for you Randy. You know and think back about you know I'm also announced what my bottom morals and I had so many album and everyone knows how to trap door. No us it was. Steadily as the end miles sleep and on the floor bar very canal street. We adjust. By the grace of god gotten out house that was going to be here reap the road and somebody came in and audit ripe for. Closely but I but there are gonna take possession of interest several months so I was I was sleeping and and an empty house might want to move them whether Arab children. And all the furniture bin footage storage and and you know what my addiction how would you welcome mode there's socially permanent housing this since before I mean. And to orient house. Fan that I am I had a friend that I've played with in Tampa Bay is famous comic jail. And he was out there doing the same thing I was doing so medicate her injuries and you know 1 morning he just didn't wake up. I'd also hazard features. Alone veterans also withdrawal from xanax. Should we move them one right after another church or several days. And so. Malan to reach out to the end that Cheryl and threw in let's go we found where ultimately went to treatment. Then that it was just a combination and they sort of per pitched more remote all. Bad in creative gifts. Breath there at the end. And September to restart into rebel term are blue and look forward though it earned him roundup where I'm sure they're well. OK see you I've heard you say this brandy. When you've got to look treatment center you literally crawled the end of that treatments are in your hands and knees. No it won't be due to grow out of correlate to me up import order do early drove me up to where small margin remembered how she should go world's. And I literally go out the scoring called bill into the door and you know objective remember I don't remember much about the night. But I do remember somebody saw him there arraigned in order to get this year. Really got to be just for you gotta have the desperation of drowning man and pursue our Marines are mad as always starts with me because. As a kid and color actually. I did almost colonel I was eight years old I got trapped underneath one of those. Paddle boats achieve sort of garden and at all. I entered the DNN's. Sean Carr got trapped underneath me out and I can remember that desperation and that I had to I don't claw on trying to call my lawyer is actually a surface to order. That are on news. I have thwarted uh oh I really did look Guatemala are but it looks about. I bet for a battle tomorrow up a battle people you know. So big bad mean cleared up and down war and a lot of those battles. But none of them were nothing compared to what I was actually go to group and try to get sober. So handle in Europe did join a lot or a handle on Randy White. To salute. Him up some ground that you know all the good. You know it was the hardest thing I've ever accomplished political also emotion. Told bill or union and Margarito trumped up OK so you crawled into bed treatments that are. And and then what happened what what was that experience like grand. Well nor did they really didn't even wanna admit may go to and have so many seizures well sort Joseph our ability how. State indeed archer three weeks and it's time winners anyway us. And indeed there are some brief break. They put it really slow name we also came in with a I have mellowed formulated through the Gulf Coast some people did as well so after deep talks. I went and had a knee replaced. I had the other knee worked on I had some work done on my neck so we had a hand account help me racial remark chronic pain issues. And then I changed fact that the parties or another week to give up all the merits that they gave me at the hospital. It is well it's doubtful that the Bible week thing right there just check out in you know three weeks since she talked so we kept reminding reporters and my other surgeries and then another week. Dig it all possible romance. And then that started sixty days so some very intense session for therapy. Dual diagnosed work to deal with Volvo's underlines things that I had going on the just you know I will also bring all the all the the depression than the U lack of identity and so war issues that I had. Stand down you know. I can remember camp it was exactly. Certain few weeks into that first deep dark sergeant remembered thank you and I was. It was 8:45 or Wednesday morning and exactly three weeks into the process and I would sit at a picnic table on for a summary that I would get up there morning and then just come right down enough in a spiral notebook what I would speak UN Mora was Cohen group. What was going on in my lob at that time and I don't know why because I'm not a big Ryder. But it's somebody who would make me feel better not to remember I think this particular morning 84515. Minutes before all the groups started larger members sob and I control what in particular mistaken. Did this is why at the end so I urge all of per hour. I know 100 or whoever. Comes out looking miserable I was eaten up at Chilton shame. I didn't know how to Lil will twelfth. Drugs without Oprah joked about bin totals are I convinced myself that I was I doubt that was gonna need them for the rest tomorrow laugh I had all these injuries I was in such. Paying. And you know I can remember it. I think it was like somebody came up behind me yet that very second they're like draped a warm core will around made the ghost then actually quilt would go for us still remember Kabila and weight on my shoulder. Any report that obsession to use and throw them pills every day it was pushed it off may erupt. I was not burning bush moment. And you know it looked at that point that I realized I could do you do you know it was going to be tough but I could do ghosts. And you know the great thing about sugita perhaps that isn't so called. And I'm so you were there. That's magic so Greer will burn bush moment happens so you know it's a reminder. All the where I was. You know it's interesting to for the show you lord that we weren't cabinet to talk about to sell an hour and here we are in the last segment this has been incredible. You know. A I know you know jacket Jack wants to know more and I want to know I was is a wanna know more but life is like for you now but I have a quick question. I want a predecessor by asking you what was it about this to turn this time in recovery that made its deck. You know what I think it was a change of geography. And change are glad it's here. You know I'd try day I'd try to jump apparently get clean and sober while still lived in Houston ahead much Marat I drove myself to treatment amendment Nortel and the torture a lot of focus on the truck the whole round and I was there. I would never open up and engaged because like I don't know this seems like Almonte triggers all month people as some things away from around outside the door. Anyone know until I got far away from. All my misery that I really. Engaged you know what I needed to do and finally opens up probably just got somewhere and bomb and then all of this stuff it. That I've been dealing with a temperature when people shears down. You know I'm thinking back and looking back gonna that was the difference it was like I came to West Palm Beach and I had a clean slate. You know I hadn't screwed anybody over her head and lost any jobs and hadn't. They're written any bad checks serve or die and anybody wrong anyway just what to do over her clean slate a reset button. And you know that's. Even when I left treatment one of the things they called me to do and how could willing to listen to what are they told me and got a warning. You know they told me to go get him sober living down there are those numbers and well outside the top 049. Years old and ultimately improve how do you want one year old you know. And try to do and I tried cutting every day all my own. And I remembered through amassed. Thought I would come back onto our campuses every day you know no one the patient anymore. You know it just kind of hang out. Or are they bigger book I would do whatever has the beard it's very met late at least where. The people that I trusted my supports well people are there around the borrows money days. So that they can hear my voice and seen morrow and everybody unheated attic well also poses. And that's how it all started one thing led to another not I would start Bruin what followed peril Wal-Mart calls. Anything I could do we'll stay on much more folks even know what little inpatient anymore. The brand because I was finance group and they're Kwan Sarah nom you know one thing would tell my little led to another to where we are now most. Friendly one day your counselor said to you OJ Randy your clean out tonight tomorrow's the big days against you won't be here. How free warrior raised at a moment. Scared to death right scared of scared to sub ever been in my off because I didn't trust also cut Entrust a decision making. So abilities. Didn't I didn't. You know I do good was structured Jack jobs you know I don't know Charlie's. I'm unsuccessful in the week. You know people told me want to do where does he want to be where and I had a book and all I had to do want to follow that playbook and I would be successful so well in my own. Tomorrow you know our I was scared to build so that's one of the reconsider and needed an accountability of sober living for a while. And I needed them stay on the on the campus and around those people whom I know me. I needed just say that Randy because. What are your five full 190 pound girl. For a guy your size and play in the NFL. When the treatment programs says it's time to go on to the next step you're scared to death. Ten and you don't know what happens next. So. What's so what's it like today Randy. It's amaze and everything and I was almost early on sets come true. I understand you know. And you know I've I've got a little out need to stay in this occupation this thing in this field could feel people that were just like Maine. You know people that are still fallen out of course and crawl and then. People that are desperate to turn their arms around the Jibril option back. You know I still get to deal with that on a daily basis and I give you the miracle happened. I got the interest did an intervention and early on. I tell I just wanted to help him you know families are all in the people were ready to get sober bunch family were ready foreign tour so intervention always had interest rates. I had the opportunity. To go up and train. Back in 2000 timlin got in New Jersey you know upset third hundreds and hundreds of interventions shall forever did Guatemala. And since 2000 and you know not a Bloomberg the good fortune of travel and all over the country and and bringing people back to treatment act the target to go into homes and see the missing. Then birdied open the mid to keep you on the shelves for the smothers Bob and I control what you saw her jewelry from our medical cigarettes are. Found in the driveway. But also get to see. The miracle happened thirty years later did you see like people have their lunch restored did you think families are restored. The cost of this process and then recovery does work inpatient treatment does work. Others you know you've got to meet them half way you've got to really just age you've got through opens up you got to leave them all here in and used their social launches for the rest of you're coverage the rest of your walked. Says. Look just feels family then and those cars or did I love to see those relationships restored. And it was a long grounder to storm our relationships with my alarm out what my children. Think so there was a lot of data use word you know what just showed earlier you are open ultra secure this tomorrow and I'm so sorry I'll never do it again. You know there were hardware update they wanted to CDC actually. But you can't work and its and it took months and months and may do in the work commuter shuffled reed grew in the work. But for a very brief Ali a little while so I was serious about their concern that defense and end all our relationship were some sort. And grab you say in the NFL you have a playbook. And recovery we've got one so. That's right and get us. You've got all the tropical puts an up market. All I had to do was follow that playbook and how it's gonna be successful or not to show their morning with a big book. You know can I do the things that are and that book contains similar here in meetings and things mosque sponsored tells me deserved hi I'm going to be successful. A Randy everybody in the region faces ME apparently we have colleagues do we really dizzy we have Bryant hang on 12 please we have Brian France and Canada to who am has something to share hey there Brian. I don't want her great let's not always just work and at this case I have. I'll eat. I'm listening to Randi again and and like I said in May end italics are fighting no better. I would say he's talking about my life other then. Metal from what the band's old Smyth fighting want to whip out all the opiates I'm. Our football injuries too bad we need all. I am and I just saw educating our modern culture we are are. I went for help for these students create system in Salt Lake City. Arm and I loose. A couple of doctors. That's what the problems started. RT who gave me a prescription total mortality which are actually jolts. RM I agreement had to go back energy to doctor drew a result of search lots. Mom you know nearest chalet that's that's worst part of it that's what I'm rural almost twelve years and Brian how are you today. In congress and our modern clean sober now. I'm playing to a drug seven years clean from alcohol and most leader. Beautiful beautiful it's good story thank you so much for calling in Brian's you met. So Randy graduate college graduation bride and you know why you you probably can relate also do that warrior mentality that I was talking about that we saw earns our car like the way we were raised no way are dead raised sinister. You know you you thought. The first strategy take care of business men continued did it die each time you know that's when when we say we so medicated also bet that mentality they just took a terrible. So Randy earlier you talked about you wonder about is this for a life is going to be. I truly believe that I had to travel the path that I traveled. I had to lose everything I had to go to prison together tore AM today. And I can't believe how wonderful life is to have a wonderful relationship but my wife today and my children. And I I hope I help somebody on a daily basis. Is do you feel that way into the had a travel road Jauron to get more rapid. Yeah yeah in and you know jerk and I don't mind Colin Marshall Pedroia that drug addicts. You know. I hit it I don't believe that a fact good arm. An addict and firearms me as a person but what I do with most going on guns and then you know what would I joke vacuum change anything brain you know why I would like to change some of the pain and misery that I call tomorrow loved ones and friends. Like you know what looking back here and then if what you're gonna be where I am now no I wouldn't I wouldn't change things. Stand I'm grateful poor area and I'm grateful for those trials are not terrorists. Fair enough I think they have to think they made me into the man that I. Am now and I've got to witness the miracle sort of gotten a witness sort of a lot of faith. Bush years and I made your point every time you're enjoying your license and they aren't you. I am.
