It's future in the house is not clear, but the state senate has passed a transportation funding bill that goes beyond the Governor's proposal. House leaders have expressed skepticism about the bill's 2.5 billion dollar price tag. It includes increased fees on drivers as well as a higher wholesale gas tax. But senate transportation committee chair John Rafferty says the worst thing is to do nothing. He says he and minority transportation chair John Wozniak have been meeting and negotiating with their colleagues in the house.
