When former State Senator Bob Mellow pleaded guilty to committing an offense against the United States and to defraud the US last month it, began an investigation into his pension. Today the State Employees Retirement system says he will forfeit his pension of over 138thousand dollars as well as the 11thousand dollar a month check he been receiving since he left the Senate in 2010. Mellow faces up to 5 years in prison and could be sentenced by the end of the summer.
