Autopsy: Drowning and Hypothermia



An autopsy performed by Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland determined 44 year old James Ryder died due to drowning and hypothermia. Investigators say The South Abington Township man was driving on Ackerly Road in Clarks Summit sometime Sunday night when his vehicle struck a bridge abutment and landed in a Scott Township Creek. A jogger found the wreck Monday morning. Divers found Ryder's body and it's believed he got out of the wreck but fell thru the ice in the creek.
