Speed Increase

More Pennsylvania roadways are getting a bump in the speed limit from 65 to 70mph. That will include 21 miles of I 380 from I 84 in Lackawanna County to Exit 3 (Pocono Pines/Mt. Pocono) in Monroe County coming the week of August 11.

Hazleton Rescue

Crews in Hazleton spent part of Tuesday afternoon rescuing a woman. Her leg became impaled on a fence at a cemetery near Vine Street and Diamond Avenue. After using grinders and saws to free the woman she was flown to the hospital for treatment.

Took The Money and Took Off

A Taylor man is locked up on charges he allegedly took money to do home repairs for at least 8 people, but never did them. 34 year old Joseph Senese faces fraud charges and is in the Lackawanna County Prison.

State Auditor General Critical of DEP

The State Auditor General is releasing a report sharply critical of state environmental regulators' oversight of the natural gas industry saying DEP failed to adequately monitor well safety or provide clear and timely information to residents.
